Health, Care & Wellbeing Research tells us that 50% of all mental illnesses are established by the age of 14 and 75% by the age of 24. Youth violence Youth violence statistics relate to the victim of a crime who is aged 19 or less. Across the Metropolitan Police Service offences were down by 1.9% over the last year, compared with a 1.3% increase in RBKC and a 19.8% increase in WCC. Of note there is considerable overlap between victims and offenders. Knife crime Knife crime with injury victims 1 - 24 In the last year knife crime has increased by 52% in Westminster compared with a 1% increase across the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS). 20% of all knife crime in Westminster was with injury compared with 29% across the MPS. There were 199 knife with injury victims over the last year in Westminster, 90 were aged 1 – 24 the vast majority (88) were not linked to domestic abuse.

Knife crime In the last year knife crime has increased by 24% compared to the pervious year, with a total of 326 offences recorded. This compares to a 16% increase in Knife Crime with injury. Personal robbery Personal robbery offences are mainly committed by young men, offences in Westminster have increased by 53% in the last year, compared with a 7% increase across the MPS. 8% of all robberies across London are in Westminster.

Personal Robbery RBKC There has been a 7% increase in personal robbery offences in RBKC compared to the previous year. The ward of Brompton and Hans Town experiences the highest number of personal robbery offences in the borough.
