Bellringer Pick up a Gravity Reinforcement Worksheet from the front table. You have 5 minutes from the time the bell rings to complete this worksheet. Take out your planners and write down your homework.

Objectives TLW list the cause & effect that relate to mass & distance with the force of gravity. TLW relate centripetal force & gravity with objects in orbit. TLW make calculations of their weight using Earth’s & other planets’ gravity.

Terms Force: Any push or pull exerted on an object. Mass: The amount of matter in an object. (pg.24) Weight: The force of gravity on an object. *Do not mix up mass & weight. On the moon, your weight will change, but your mass remains the same. Inertia: The tendency of an object to resist a change in motion.
