Current issue Refocusses on Professional portfolio for standards (DEP) Ensuring the requirement that Critical Tasks are created to be collected in DEP Solution – framework requirement by AITSL This presentation is not about the framework, it is about the process improvement

Challenges  Staff and student understanding of process, framework and methodology Staff Confident and capable – will flow to the students Recognise that if staff are not confident and capable this also flows to students How do we achieve this? Time poor staff. Sessional staff. No real intensive for staff

Confident Capable Committed Strategy Staff Confident and capable – will flow to the students Investing in PD program for staff Targeted keen staff Committed – not an expert group Want to but not confident how to Once committed group becomes confident and capable they would be able to Support students better Support colleagues

Those that came still struggled to engage Differing levels of expertise/experience/knowledge/terminology Fundamentals that are still not understood Confusion Technical support – when things go wrong the staff are getting really frustrated Blame the system Escalates 1.Reinforce the fundamentals 2.Reduce the confusion – message to students can be confusing when it is inconsistent 3. When things go wrong – they panic – the system gets blamed
