2019/20 Priorities Regenerating Bolton’s Town centre Planning approval for 6 Major projects. Construction started on at least 3 of these. Ist phase of planned public realm works completed Obtain planning consent for two new hotels (one 4 star hotel and one 3.5 star) Regenerating other District Town Centres Masterplans completed for Little Lever, Westhoughton, Horwich and Farnworth. “Quick win” projects identified and started in Farnworth Developing new employment opportunity sites in the M61 corridor Planning application approved for 4 million ft2 of space at Wingates, near M61-J6 Potential occupiers secured for 1st phase (1million ft2). Improving connectivity across the Borough Plans approved for 2 sustainable transport corridors identified. Secure funding for £236m Bolton-Wigan M61-M6 link road (Westhoughton Bypass) Start construction of £12m Rivington Chase link road

2019/20 Priorities Facilitating local business growth and attracting new businesses Increased use of local suppliers on local development schemes. Investment secured from companies in advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors Continually improving Bolton’s cultural and leisure offer Re-tender the existing management contract for Council Leisure Services Open the Octagon Theatre in April 2020, following an £11.5m renovation project Making Bolton a recognised location for major events and exhibitions Deliver Bolton Food festival, Ironman UK etc, Plan for Rugby League World Cup, secure Hulton Park as a potential future Ryder Cup location Delivering new housing Secure Council approval for Bolton’s New Housing Delivery Plan Secure development partners and Government funding support for an accelerated housing delivery programme on Council-owned (mainly brownfield) sites, across the Borough

World Cup T Wingates Rivington Chase Hulton Park Bolton Town Centre An adopted strategy and masterplan sets the vision for a £1bn transformation of Bolton Town Centre with the Council investing £100m into five key intervention areas delivering 1million sqft of new high quality development including 2000 houses Rivington Chase Regeneration of a brownfield site delivering 1700 homes with infrastructure and green spaces Wingates Proposal by Harworth for up to 5 million sq ft employment Hulton Park Proposal to host the Ryder Cup in Bolton together with 1036 houses Logistics North Hugely successful delivery of 4 million sq ft and 550 acre country park attracting major players delivering thousands of jobs and skills Sustainable Travel Corridors Innovative proposals to identify sustainable transport corridors capable of delivering tram or other autonomous vehicles District Centres Investment in district centres to ensure they are sustainable in the context of retail challenges with new housing, shopping, public realm and infrastructure HIF Projects £12m Housing Infrastructure Fund for Rivington Chase link road £130m stage 1 joint bid with Wigan Council to link M61 with M6/M58 (Westhoughton bypass). Linked to delivery of GM Spatial Framework World Cup Proposal to host the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in Bolton Housing Infrastructure Fund 4 5 6
