(Case 5) Left ventricular hypertrophy—12-lead ECG demonstrating NSR with LVH. The ST segment depression in the lateral leads (I, aVl, V5, and V6) is seen in approximately 70% of patients with electrocardiographic LVH; such a finding has been termed the “strain pattern.” While this finding may represent altered repolarisation attributable to the presence of LVH, it may also be a manifestation of myocardial ischaemia.
