Salivary Glands Organ System – Digestive Function - Begin to break down food, help moisten food to swallow

Masseter Organ System – Muscular Function – Closes the jaw

Epiglottis Organ System – Respiratory or Digestive Function - Closes the opening of larynx

Larynx Organ System – Respiratory Function – Houses the vocal cords which produce sound

Trachea Organ System – Respiratory Function - Passageway for air that leads to lungs

Sternum Organ System – Skeletal Function - Protects heart and lungs, anchors ribs

Ribs Organ System – Skeletal Function – protects vital organs
