Appearance Kangaroos are tan, red, brown and gray. They have big back legs and small front legs. Kangaroos have fur all over them, even in their pouch.

Habitat They live in Australia. Where they live in Australia is a very grassy land. Australia never gets cold.

Babies Kangaroos’ babies are called joeys. Once kangaroos are seven months old they come out of the pouch. When kangaroos are about one and a half they leave their mother.

Movment Kangaroos mainly hop.They sometimes swim away from predators. Some kangaroos climb rocks.

Food Kangaroos love to eat grass, leaves and berries. Some stay on guard while others eat. Kangaroos eat day and night.

Other interesting facts Sometimes when there is danger the mom kangaroo throws the joey in the bushes and comes back to find the joey. Kangaroos are the largest hopping animals in the world. They belong to a group of animals called marsupials.
