McComb City EXCEL By 5 Coalition

What Is EXCEL BY 5? An innovative early childhood community certification process focusing on a community’s young children Emphasizes the important roles parents and early childhood educators play in the lives of children during their most formative years – birth to age 5.

McComb The Candidate Community Accepted the challenge to become a certified EXCEL BY 5 “child-friendly” community Supports parents and children by connecting them with the available resources and services they need to lead healthy, strong lives.

McComb EXCEL BY 5 Coalition formed in August 2011 Developing a Community Action Plan that provides events and services for McComb area families and early childhood educators.

OUR GOAL All children will be healthier and better prepared for kindergarten and first grade.

Community Involvement Community leaders will promote resources and support city-wide events. Community leaders, organizations, and businesses are stakeholders and will support early childhood development opportunities in the City of McComb.
