Aim: What is masculinity? Do Now: Who is this and why is he relevant to our discussion of masculinity?

In the Media: Men are more often portrayed in the media as strong, confident, successful, and powerful. Women are more often objectified and portrayed as inferior to men. Children’s programming is geared towards gender socialization. Shows for boys exemplify violence and competition, while shows for girls stress emotion.
