Or, they’ve invested significant $ in building a job board where companies post jobs and people post resumes. Greater St. Cloud JobSpot is an online talent portal that contains job postings available in the three-county St. Cloud, Minnesota region. The website also contains information such as resume and networking resources for job seekers as well as internship, higher education, and recruiting and retention resources for employers. Greater St. Cloud is home to seven higher education institutions with more than 30,000 students, but the region was having difficulty retaining students after graduation and students weren’t aware of job opportunities available in the region. Their role is to facilitate collaboration between business, education, and workforce around regional talent issues. Every local college and university in the region also participated in the development of the job portal. To facilitate talent retention, the region hosts an annual Talent Summit. This one-day event allows job seekers to connect with local employers. The 2016 Talent Summit includes employer breakout sessions and a Career Fair of over 50 employers as well as alumni social events from local colleges and universities. Since its launch in May 2014, more than 900 job seekers and 260 employers have registered on JobSpot. More than 600 job openings are currently posted. Approximately 250 job seekers, 200 employers, and 50 education partners attended the 2016 Talent Summit. Business Services & Sector Partnerships Conference
