Longitudinal follow up of more than 300 dialysis patients who had PWV measurements performed in aorta, brachial/radial, and femoral/tibial vascular beds. Longitudinal follow up of more than 300 dialysis patients who had PWV measurements performed in aorta, brachial/radial, and femoral/tibial vascular beds. Primary outcome was cardiovascular survival. Average follow-up was 70 mo. Patients were divided into tertiles by the velocities obtained in each bed. The aortic PWV tertiles had a very clear relationship to survival, whereas division of patients by brachial or femoral PWV tertiles was not significantly predictive of survival.
