Report Misconduct Executive Order No. 39 provides that state officers and employees must promptly report to the State Inspector General [SIG] “any information concerning corruption, fraud, criminal activity, conflicts of interest or abuse by another state officer or employee relating to his or her office or employment, or by a person having business dealings with a covered agency relating to those dealings.” Failure of any officer or employee to report such information is cause for removal from office or employment or other appropriate penalty.
Report Misconduct You cannot be punished for making a complaint to the SIG. Calls to the SIG’s office are kept in confidence, and employees who report misconduct are given “whistle-blower” protection against dismissal, discipline or other adverse personal action.
