Apathy noun lack of feeling or of interest Salome’s apathy towards the boy falling led everyone to believe that she did not like him.

arbitrate verb  to settle a disagreement after hearing the arguments of both sides After hearing both sides, Victor arbitrated that pink was the best color.

astute adjective having or showing understanding and the skill to make good choices or decisions Bryan’s astute knowledge on the subject caused his group to be confident in his decision.

permanent adjective  lasting or intended to last for a very long time : not temporary or changing Some parents do not like tattoos because they are permanent.

persist verb   to continue to do something in spite of opposition, warnings, or pleas When the students persisted to talk in class, they lost their chance to receive tickets.
