Our Strategic Vision 2017-25

What we are trying to achieve “Improved Health and Wellbeing across Suffolk by inspiring everyone to be more active” What we are trying to achieve

Who we are Active Suffolk is one of 43 Active Partnerships across England. Working with a wide range of local partners, we provide the strategic lead for physical activity and sport across the county, and support Suffolk’s collective ambition to be the Most Active County in England.

What we know By 2040, 1 in 3 people in Suffolk will be over 65 in a population of 828,800 Currently, 5% of the Suffolk population is from a Black, Asian or Minority ethnic background 32.2% of working age people in Suffolk are qualified to NVQ Level 4+ - below national average Only 65% of coaches feel they have enough expertise to positively engage inactive people 40% of Suffolk residents live in rural areas Although below average, Deprivation is rising GCSE Attainment remains below the national average – 53.8% 5 A*- C Grades (Including English and Maths) 39% of Suffolk adults are insufficiently active to benefit their health Only 17.5% of children and young people meet the Chief Medical Officer guidelines for activity   Suffolk Activity Community Workforce

Our Approach We will promote the effective use and sharing of insight to support the delivery of sport and physical activity interventions We will bring together partners and stakeholders to deliver shared goals in the most effective way We will support and recognise the contribution of the paid workforce, clubs and volunteers across the sector We will place customers at the heart of our approach in order to increase participation and effect changes in behaviour We will evaluate our performance and that of the sector to demonstrate the contribution to personal, social and economic outcomes We will ensure good corporate governance and financial accountability
