Events which led to U.S. entry into WWII The Failure of the Treaty of Versailles Germans and USSR were angry and resentful Treaty was not “safe for democracy” The rise of Fascism, an ideology based on nationalism and placing interests of the state above individuals The rise of Nazism, the German brand of fascism Policy of appeasement (Munich Pact) by Britain and France when dealing with the Germans Britain and France gave into Germany’s “last demand” to annex both Austria and Czechoslovakia to prevent war
