Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Current situation: Forestry Statistics monitors and displays information about the most important changes in the forestry sector. In the field of forestry statistics are carried out total of 9 surveys. Data are collected by the reporting method. Data are collected from the forest and other enterprises, and are based on accounting records. Depending on the isssues, surveys are being conducted on a monthly, annual and multi-annual basis. Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Current situation : In the forestry statistics area data are collected with following surveys: Report on production of forest assortments in state forests (monthly) The survey collects data on produced, sold quantities and stocks of forest assortments, i.e.data on total gross fallen wood mass from January till the end of the year are used for production of forest assortments. Report on growing and cultivatning of forests The aim of survey is to obtain data on artificial afforestation, method of afforestation, spent planting and seeding material, tending and melioreation of high and coppice forests, as well as melioreation of scrub, bushes and foliage forest. Report on use of state forests The aim of survey is to obtain data on fallen trees by perpetrators in forest and outside of forest, felled gross timber mass in forest by type of logging and cultivation, fallen trees outside of forest and usage of by-products. Report on use of private forests The aim of survey is to obtain data on fallen gross mass in and outside of forest, by type of logging (regular and irregular) types of cultivation (high, coppice and other categories of forest). Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Current situation : Report on damage to state forests The survey collects data on damage in forests, by type of forest, area, average fallen wooden mass by cause of damage, spent resources for forest protection and causes of fire in forest. Report on construction objects, roads and machinery The survey collects data on forestry buildings, roads in state forests (forest and public roads), fuel consumption, oil and electricity, vehicles and machinery. Report on damage caused by fire in private forests Data are shown on the size of burnt area, fallen wood mass and value of fallen wood mass by certain type of forest, in which, during the year damage was caused by this causer. Annual report on changes in forest area – private and state forests (on three years) The aim of survy is to obtain data on area of forest on the beginning of year and increase / decrease of forest area during the year, and the forest area at the end of the year. Annual survy on hunting (on two years)  The survey collects data on number of wild animals, hunting building and objects, hunting grounds and hunters. Statistika šumarstva STATISTICS Chapter 18: Current situation: By the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in 2010 was sent JFSQ, (reference year of the sent data are 2008 and 2009). The survey on the consumption of wood fuel in Montenegro was conducted in 2011, through the project "Development of forestry in Montenegro" – FODEMO. With this survey collected are data on type, quantities and value of wood fuel that are produced, imported, spent and exported in Montenegro; data on supply sources for wood fuel, as well as data on devices that are used for their combustion. Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Current situation: Data were collected from households, buildings of public importance, objects of commercial significance and industrial wood processing companies in Montenegro. The purpose of the survey consisted in the application of new methodological concepts in function of collecting data on production, consumption, foreign trade and balance of wood fuel in Montenegro. The obtained data are used to produce energy balance of wood fuel for 2011.  The methodology is harmonized with UNECE/FAO/EUROSTAT M O N T E N E G R O Negotiating Team for Accession of Montenegro to the European Union Chapter 18: Statistics

Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Legal framework: Commission Regulation (EC) no. 614/2007 Commission Regulation (EC) no. 995/2010 JFSQ - Joint Forest Section Questionnaire used by four international organizations: UNECE, FAO, Eurostat and ITTO. Forestry Statistics STATISTICS Chapter 18: Compliance: Low level of compliance. Economic accounts for forestry statistics are not developed. Future plans: Capacity development in the field of forestry statistics.. Deepening of inter-institutional cooperation. One of the long-term goals in MONSTAT, according to available capacities, is development of forestry accounts.
