Supplementary Figure 4. Following clodronate liposome depletion, EGFP+F4/80+ cells are largely absent at the epicenter and caudal to the lesion at 7 and 14 d post-SCI. Lys-EGFP-ki spinal cord sections from mice treated with clodronic acid liposomes at 7 days (A-D) and 14 days (E-H) post-SCI were obtained from the lesion (A, B and E, F respectively) and caudal (C, D and G, H respectively) to the lesion. They were double stained with anti-GFP (green; A, C, E, G) and anti-F4/80 (red, B, D, F, H). EGFP+F4/80+ cells were sparse and widely distributed but the EGFP-F4/80+ microglia and mMϕ were uniformly distributed throughout the lesion. Scale bar in A equals 50 μm and applies to all panels.
