Disadvantages of ProSe: Off-Network Communications: What are some of the challenges of ProSe – Proximity Services for D2D or Push-to-Talk Communications Disadvantages of ProSe: Low power - ~250mW Broadcast or one-to-many is still being developed and optimized Limited range of D2D coverage due to power restraints Interoperability between current narrowband assets like P25, TETRA, and DMR Interoperability between different chipset technologies Advantages of ProSe: Auto-Discovery of other UEs Ability to re-use existing technology (LTE) being used by core device Centralized management of UEs with ProSe enabled UE relay for UEs not able to connect or in coverage of network Ability to seamlessly sustain both off and on-network capabilities Both UEs have network coverage Only one UE has network coverage No network coverage

Off-network communication that keeps you connected. XPand Direct Mode Works simultaneously with handset features and functions Works while On or Off the Carrier Network, providing an additional communication method Uses Sonim’s innovative XPand Connector to draw power from the phone’s extra-large battery Allows for 1:1 and group PTT calls and text messages Innovative, and optional, call recording and playback Frequency hopping to mitigate channel interface 256-bit AES symmetric key encryption keeps messages secure and between the users
