Background HBS: Information on domestic consumption expenditures on goods and services (best survey reach in Income Poverty Indicators). Tanzania Mainland has Six available HBS data series : 1969 1976/77 1991/92 (the first scientific study – whole country) 2000/01 (with regional estimates) 2007 2011/12 2017-18 HBS will be the 7th round of HBSs: (Targeting Regional Estimates) **** GLOBAL MPI MODULES

Why MPI Global MPI MONITORS national, regional and international commitments: FYDP-II EAC Vision 2050 ADA 2063 Global MPI - SDG indicators 2.1.1, 2.2.2, 3.2.1, 4.6.1, 4.1.1, 7.1.2, 6.2.1, 6.1.1, 7.1.1 and 11.1.1; and; It is disaggregated by age group, region, ethnicity, disability status for policy planning and monitoring.

Limitations and recommendations Lack of data of various indicators which could have been used to calculate MPI (nutrition/mortality). How to communicating the MPI/NMPI and Metric Poverty numbers Recommendation. A decision to Include MPI indicators in selected on-going regional level household based surveys is underway.
