What does this map have in common with modern maps you have seen? The Durnford Map What does this map have in common with modern maps you have seen? It what ways is the map unique? Similarities: It has a key. It uses symbols Differences: North is on the right side of the map. Tree density is shown. Slopes are sketched with hachuring. Hachures /ˈhæʃʊərz/ are an older mode of representing relief. They show orientation of slope, and by their thickness and overall density they provide a general sense of steepness.
