Faith maturity is "the degree to which a person embodies the priorities, commitments, and perspectives characteristic of vibrant and life- transforming faith.

Faith-nurturing characteristics of YM refer to the characteristics or factors of YM that have been identified in the literature as being associated with faith development of adolescents potential characteristics or factors promoting faith development of adolescents

Some examples of faith-nurturing characteristics in YM are the following: Guidance, encouragement, healing, and correction "My YM provides guidance and direction for my life." "My YM helps me to find meaning and purpose in my life." "I get encouragement and strength from my YM." "When I am emotionally hurt or wounded, I get comfort from my YM."

"When I make wrong choices and go astray from my faith, my YM holds me accountable, corrects me and restores me." Significant adults "I experience care and support from adult(s) in my YM." "There is at least one adult in my YM whose faith and life I respect and would like to emulate." "When I have a personal problem, there is an adult involved with the YM with whom I would feel comfortable discussing."
