7th credit Electives If you are a serious art/music/acting student – you may take two semesters of art/music/acting and postpone your Humanities requirement until junior year.

Humanities Exemption Serious art/music students- can choose to take 3 FULL credits in art/music during high school. Your must talk to your art/music teacher and your dean in study before you make this choice.

Your transcript tells a story. . . There is a simple story to it. Who you are Where you live What classes you took The grades you earned Your attendance record

Your transcript tells a story. . . But if you look more closely, it also tells a more in-depth story of your time at Assumption Look at this one! Great start at AHS! Took on some additional challenge Did well Took on some more. The summary? A student who accepted challenges and pushed herself to be challenged additionally when the time was right!

Standardized Testing FRESHMAN YEAR: PreACT test in October SOPHOMORE YEAR: PreACT and/or PSAT JUNIOR YEAR: PSAT and ACT (April REAL ACT) SENIOR YEAR: ACT (required); SAT (optional)

Some things that colleges look for in student stories. . . A rigorous course of study Our graduation requirements are quite rigorous, so by following these, you should be fine for most schools. Purposeful and thoughtful elective requirements Is there a passion you are following? If you are looking at more selective schools OR if you want to demonstrate your ability to be successful in college requirements , they prefer to see electives in the core content areas: Math, Science, English, Social Studies, and Foreign Language Colleges also like to see a student pursue her interests i.e. art, music
