Present Continuous for future plans

Things to know… The present continuous verb indicates that an action or condition is happening now, frequently, and may continue into the future. The present continuous formula is: To be (am, is, are) + verb (in present –ing) The present continuous tense can tell about future actions that someone plans. You must include the future time when you use this tense. Examples: I’m making a special breakfast today. My parents are having dinner at a nice restaurant tomorrow.

OTHER EXAMPLES… They are sitting at Scott’s favorite booth, the one with the sparkling plastic seats. The waiter is standing behind the counter right now with a notepad in his hand and pencil behind his ear. Are you waiting to open your presents after you eat your pancakes? I’m meeting my boyfriend tonight. Harry and Sally are always arguing!
