Beliefs about food The Tudors had very different beliefs about food than we do today. It was thought that raw fruit and veg was bad for you!

Vegatables Rich people only ate vegtables that grew above ground such as onions, leeks, and garlic

Dairy foods Dairy foods such as Milk, Butter and cheese were normally considered as food for the poor.

Poaching Only nobles and lords of England were allowed to poach The punishment For poaching was Deaf or having One hand cut off

Bread Only rich people ate white bread. Poor people ate rye, Or wholemeal bread

Drinks Tudors would drink weak beer. The rich would drink Wine and Beer from France
