Japanese Kamikaze Pilots

intro The Japanese kamikaze pilots where ruthless people. Most of them had no training or very little training at manning an aircraft. There goal was to use humans to basically guide a big bomb (the airplane) into other aircrafts or any other kind of military branches or centers.

I believe people should know the meaning of kamikaze and the destruction they caused. They were pretty effective but they were also probably the most inhumane branch ever in the naval forces. This slide show will show you the ruthless manor of these people and how they carried out they're attacks

Kamikaze pilot’s soul purpose was to ram into warships, the planes often loaded with explosives. Witch meant taking their own life in the process. Instead of delivering bombs and torpedo's, they converted the planes to what was necessary. Creating a manned missile, to reap the benefits of more precise accuracy and precision.

The kamikaze attack tactic was suggested on October 19 1944 by Vice Admiral Onishi of the Japanese navy The Kamikazes made their first appearance during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944

A total of about 5000 Kamikaze pilots were launched, mostly in the Battle of Okinawa, consuming much of the remaining human and material resources of Japanese air power. The result of their effort was 36 sunk American ships and landing craft, and 368 damaged. the Kamikaze campaign failed to achieve its strategic goal of stopping the American advance, and American air attacks were launched against the Kamikaze air bases in southern Japan in order to reduce their numbers. Japan lost its last battle despite the enormous sacrifice of its fanatic warriors, and lost the war

Kamikaze meaning divine wind was japans last attempt to catch up with Americas technological advances. Kamikaze units were very precise and effective but they wasted so many lives in the process

Other kamikaze tactics Explosive speed boats Suicide torpedoes Suicide midget submarines Suicide divers carrying explosives Suicide infantrymen carrying anti-tank mines

Explanation for suicide warfare The reasoning for the kamikaze attack forces was the Americans were advancing into the Philippines with a massive fleet of naval forces and admiral Onishi had very little bombs big enough to destroy or even disable the huge warships so they turned to suicide warfare to help coop with the advancing overwhelming fleet of America.

Reason this should be in the museum The reasoning for this exhibit being in the museum is that this is probably the most inhumane warfare strategy ever used by a legitimate naval force.
