PROTEIN-PROTEIN INTERACTIONS July 15th, 2009 D.M. Syracuse, Presenter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:GFP_structure.png

Troubleshooting a screen Need to select a protein from a whole library of proteins Use an antibody-antigen pair to select them. However, unexpected binding is occurring

What I’m working on I have some proteins (parts of antibodies) that I know will bind to the antigen. I have some that I know will not bind. The proteins are fused to GFP – their presence can be detected. I’ve made and expressed plasmids in E. coli with the various proteins in them.

What it can lead to A high throughput filter to screen a library for proteins. Potential for quicker research, no need for sequencing, etc.
