Name____________________________ Tutor Group _____ Timber Frame Construction Timber frame construction is a quick and easy form of building, it is relatively cheep. The main superstructure is made from timber the same way a stud wall is made. The outside of the building is clad in variety of materials, one of the cheapest and quickest methods is to use plywood, this does not provide much insulation and does not look that good. Timber frame buildings can also be clad in render to make it look like a traditional building. 1. What is a superstructure? 2. Why is this a sustainable way of building? 3. Explain one benefit and one disadvantage of timber framed construction?
