CAMPAIGNS EVENTS PROJECTS One of the ways you could fulfill your duties as a responsible citizen would be to get involved in : CAMPAIGNS EVENTS PROJECTS

Event: a planned once off activity. Some helpful definitions... Event: a planned once off activity. Project: a planned activity that tends to run over time.

What is an Awareness Campaign? This is a series of actions taken to impact a problem in society or that affects our environment. Teacher to invite a few willing learners to share well known campaigns that they have encountered in the media. Teacher to guide a short introductory discussion by asking questions like: 1. What awareness campaigns have you seen before? 2. Who would you say these campaigns were aimed at? 3. How effective would you say this campaign was?

The stages of a campaign: Recognise the problem in a community eg. Rape of small children in Cape Town Work as a team to brainstorm ideas on how to make the public aware of the problem and to think of possible solutions. Then to promote these solutions using media like newspapers/ radio/ television/ social media/ games etc. Evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign and consider possible changes.
