Regional Subcommittees Purpose: Serve as the liaison between Student Chapters and the Institute Responsibilities: Correspond with approximately 4-6 Student Chapters Help grow and improve Student Chapters Assist with any problems Chapters may encounter Encourage inter-chapter communication Requirements Regions

Regional Subcommittees Requirements: In order to be eligible to be selected, the candidate must: be an active member of AIChE and in good standing be a member of their respective AIChE Student Chapter be pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field with an anticipated graduation date in May 2020 or later Time Required: 4 hrs/month

Regional Subcommittees Regional Subcommittee members serve in the region their Student Chapter belongs in. USA, Canada, and Mexico: Mid-America Mid-Atlantic North Central Northeast Pacific Northwest Rocky Mountain Southern Southwest Western Globally: Asia-Pacific Europe and Africa Latin America Middle East Southern Asia

Conference Experience Subcommittee Purpose: Improve attendees’ AIChE student conference experiences Responsibilities: Facilitate communication between AIChE student conference host schools globally. Help generate interest among Chapters in holding a Student Regional Conference and aid in the host school selection process. Campaign to increase participation in AIChE student conferences and their affiliated competitions and events. Identify common difficulties faced when planning an AIChE student conference and take steps to address and resolve the issues. Requirements Example Tasks

Conference Experience Subcommittee Requirements: In order to be eligible to be selected, the candidate must: be an active member of AIChE and in good standing be a member of their respective AIChE Student Chapter be pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field with an anticipated graduation date in May 2020 or later have recent experience planning an AIChE Student Regional Conference or Chem-E-Car Competition Time Required: 4 hrs/month

Conference Experience Subcommittee Example Tasks: Create marketing campaigns to promote upcoming AIChE student conferences Feature conference events on ESC communication lines Design publications to generate interest in hosting a conference Create resources and guides to aid conference planners

Publications Subcommittee Purpose: Inform Student Chapters of AIChE news and activities Responsibilities: Compiling the monthly ESC newsletter Managing the ESC website Managing ESC social media Contributing student written ChEnected blog posts Requirements Positions

Publications Subcommittee Requirements: In order to be eligible to be selected, the candidate must: be an active member of AIChE and in good standing be a member of their respective AIChE Student Chapter be pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field with an anticipated graduation date in May 2020 or later be proficient in English with strong writing and/or design skills Time Required: Please see individual positions

Publications Subcommittee ChEnected Contributor Duties: Produce a ChEnected post every 4-6 weeks Examples: ESC “Show-and-Tell” Video Challenge Student Chapter Feature K-12 Outreach Feature Sister Chapter Spotlight Time Required: 4 hrs/month

Publications Subcommittee ChEnected Editor Duties: Edit ChEnected drafts and input into ChEnected’s system Time Required: 1 hr/week

Publications Subcommittee Social Media Coordinator Duties: Run the ESC’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts Time Required: 2 hrs/week

Publications Subcommittee Webmaster Duties: Manage the ESC’s website Time Required: 1 hr/week Additional Qualifications: HTML knowledge will be helpful, but not necessary

Publications Subcommittee Newsletter Designer Duties: Design and compile newsletter components Time Required: 4 hrs/month Additional Qualifications: HTML knowledge will be helpful, but not necessary

Publications Subcommittee Graphic Designer Duties: Design visuals for newsletters, social media, and ChEnected posts Time Required: Dependent on designer’s experience (~ 4hrs/month)

K-12 Outreach Subcommittee Purpose: Manage the ESC’s K-12 Outreach program Responsibilities: Promote the K-12 Outreach program Approve new outreach modules Nominate Chapters for the features Award the ESC’s K-12 Outreach award Requirements Example Tasks

K-12 Outreach Subcommittee Requirements: In order to be eligible to be selected, the candidate must: be an active member of AIChE and in good standing be a member of their respective AIChE Student Chapter be pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field with an anticipated graduation date in May 2020 or later have experience in K-12 outreach Time Required: 4 hrs/month

K-12 Outreach Subcommittee Example Tasks: Create email and social media campaigns to promote the K-12 Outreach program Organize and host periodic conference calls with participating Chapters Create resources and guides to aid outreach activities Review new teaching modules

Sister Chapter Subcommittee Purpose: Aid in the operation of the Sister Chapter program Responsibilities: Promoting the Sister Chapter program Improving and managing the matchmaking procedure Ensuring that Sister Chapters remain engaged in activities with each other Nominate Sister Chapters for features Requirements Example Tasks

Sister Chapter Subcommittee Requirements: In order to be eligible to be selected, the candidate must: be an active member of AIChE and in good standing be a member of their respective AIChE Student Chapter be pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering or related field with an anticipated graduation date in May 2020 or later have experience in Sister Chapter relations Time Required: 4 hrs/month
