King Clovis AD 466—511 Unified the Franks in AD 481 Frustrated with Frankish gods after losing battles He and his troops converted to Christianity and began to win This gained him Roman followers Converted = comes from Latin “turned around” >>> Today it means “changed religions”

King Clovis After he converted, many Christians, including Christian leaders, supported Clovis. In return for their support, Church leaders expected Clovis to defend them from attacks.
