Welcome to Roma - Italia

It is located in the central-western portion of the Italian peninsula on the Tiber river. Tiber river Rome is the capital city of Italy and Lazio with about 3 million residents.

Romes most important symbol is the Capitoline Wolf. A replica of the famous Etruscan statue, stands before city hall in Rome. The statue portrays Romulus and Remus, the mythical founders of Rome, who, according to legend, were cast away as infants and raised by a wolf. The Capitoline wolf – La lupa

Today, Rome is a modern, cosmopolitan city, and the third most-visited tourist destination in the European Union. Rome's international airport, Fiumicino, is the largest in Italy and the city hosts the head offices of the vast majority of the major Italian companies, as well as the headquarters of three of the world's 100 largest companies: Enel, ENI and Telecom Italia.

As one of the few major European cities that escaped World War II relatively unscathed, central Rome remains essentially Renaissance and Baroque in character. Bramantes temple- Reinaissance St. Peter - Baroque All the historical centre of Rome is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

CASA DEI BAMBINI MONTESSORI The House of children Montessori hosts children aged from three to six. It is divided into four sections with different school time: in three of them lessons start at 8.20 am and end at 4.20 pm while in one lessons start at 8.20 am and end at pm. The composition of the classes is heterogenous, every class hosts about twenty-five children.

Montessoris methodology The main idea of the House of children Montessori is the awareness of a child protagonist and craftsman of his/her own growth, an active, competent, autonomous and operational subject; particular care and attention, therefore, are dedicated to the predisposition of an environment that favors the autonomous activities and attitudes of observation, exploration and search in the children. The montessoriano environment is an environment of life.

Spaces organization The spaces inside which the teachers operate are four great classrooms corresponding to the sections/groups, a large hall equipped for laboratorial activities and a big space dedicated to hygienic services and the connected activities of the care of the person, endowed with water and sinks, used autonomously by the children for the activities connected to the practical life (cleaning brushes, small dishes, etc). The school also has a space for the meals and a small garden.

Corner of the practical life It is a space organized for the activities connected to the care of the environment: to sweep, to decant waters and flours, to medicate, to take care of flowers and small animals.

Corner of the constructive and sensory activities This space is organized to favor sensory experiences: tactile, visual, manipulative and constructive.

Corner of the language, the listening and the book. This is a laboratorial space organized to promote the communication, the interest for the written language and to formulate the first hypotheses of reading and writing.

In every section there is a "library", so that the children can autonomously access the books in order to skim through them and to read them in comforting situation (pillows, small couches and carpets).

Corner of the logical-mathematics activities and of the scientific observation This space is organized for promoting the observation, the exploration, the search, the discovery and the formulation of hypothesis on the reality that surrounds us (eg. weekly calendar, seasonal, annual for the recording of the presences, of the atmospheric time, of birthdays etc)

Corner of colour manipolation This space is a laboratory devoted to promote the expressive activities, creative and the childrens manipulation: to paint, to manipulate, to cut, to glue…

Corner of music and sound and of ITC This space is dedicated to the listening and the production of musical passages and songs and for an aware use of I.T.C.
