Active Bystander Who can define what it means to be an active bystander? An active bystander is someone who not only witnesses a situation but takes steps to keep the situation from escalating. For example, this would mean preventing someone from taking that extra drink they don’t really need or stopping them from walking home alone. When it comes down to it, we are responsible for the well-being of our sisters.

Loyalty Circle Conversations What are the consequences and/or benefits of intervening in a situation? What are the consequences and/or benefits of choosing not to intervene? Imagine you are Michelle in this scenario. How would you have responded? What are some questions we could ask when intervening?

Questions You Can Ask How are you doing/feeling? What have you been drinking tonight? What did you eat today? How long have you been here? How did you get here? How are you getting home? Who did you come with? What are your plans for the rest of the night?
