STUDY TECHNIQUES A GUIDE FOR SUCCESS

MAKING REVISION WORK – 3 SIMPLE TECHNIQUES Condensing: Fitting notes onto one side of paper makes them easier to stomach – so re-write them, cutting down as you go. Highlighting: Target key areas using colours and symbols – visuals help you remember the facts. Recording: Try putting important points, quotes and formulae on tape – if you hear them and read them, they’re more likely to sink in.

Flash cards flash cards are cards bearing information, as words or numbers, on either or both sides, used in in private study. Questions are written on one side and answers are written overleaf. They can be created at home with very little assistance. They very affordable and cheap to buy. They can be reused anytime. It helps children stay focused on the learning concept. They encourage repetition and hence aid better learning.
