Cactuses …and their world

About cactuses… Cactuses are very popular plants. Their home is hot and dry desert. They are usually green with spines and beautiful flowers. There are many kinds of cactuses-from very small in our flats to a few metres long in deserts and hot countries.

Where do they grow? They grow in many countries. From Canada to Patagonia A symbol of Mexico is big hat and cactus-of course. They grow in tropical countries too. From seaside to 4000 metres above sea level. From wet meadow to dry desert. From fogged trees to hot stones…

The most popular cactuses… …here are some kinds of cactuses which we grow at home…

Opuntia Opuntia grows from Canada to south Argentina There are many kinds of this species It was discovered in 1754 by P. Miller It has got flat leaves which look like ears They are easy to grow, Thats why are they so popular. Everyone must have them in collection :0)
