NEET – young people neither in employment nor in education and training NEET definition Discussions at EMCO IG (January, April 2010) EMCO April 2010: agreement on definition Aim: supplement existing indicators (employment rate, unemployment rate/ratio) with information on young people not in employment and not in education and training Policy use: JAF/EPM, MIP Scoreboard

And not in further education or training NEET = percentage of the population in a given age group or sex who are Not employed - Unemployed or inactive according to ILO definitions In the reference week  current Derived LFS variable And not in further education or training - No participation in formal or non-formal education or training In the four weeks preceding the survey  current Variables EDUCSTAT and COURATT Data source: EU Labour Force Survey (EU-LFS)
