CIRTS Consciousness Induced Restoration of Time Symmetry Dick Bierman, University Groningen Workshop Psi-Theories July2-3, Paris Good Morning, The replication crisis & Experimental Parapsychology, I should have called it: Suggestions to solve the replications crisis from experiences in the field of expeimental PP. Why PP? Well that field has been under continuous scrutiny from even before it started because….. Any succesful experiment would be welcomed with: this is impossible do it again (or replicate!!!!)

The data Precognition is as much established as any other GESP Thus retro-causation is required Or is Time-symmetry (TS) sufficient How do you think you would experience TS Deja Vu!!!!!

The basic idea (1) Go to the extreme to keep physics intact No changes, no add-ons to the formalisms No unsupported use of quantum oddities (or the word non-local) Where in main stream physics is retro-causality? Nowhere but time-symmetry is in many formalisms Most notably in classical EM theory (advanced & retarded waves) But time-symmetry seems to have disappeared (Wheeler-Feynman)

The basic idea (2) The role of Boundary Conditions in physics Absorbtion by a brain (sustaining C) is a boundary condition Assumption: that special boundary condition restores TS

What is so special about the brain? Extremely complex (most complex in universe?) But not powerful enough to support scanning the universe for all relevant information!! End of Rhinean models. If C then some magic coherence binding-strength (integration) So in CIRTS: psi effect size ~ brain ‘coherence’ But which ‘coherence

But precognition enables closedtime-loop paradoxes That is assumed to be the ‘cause’ fo r the elusiveness of psi. And it allows us to replace thought experiments on closed time loops with real ones! Thus possibly supporting Echevaria, Klinkhammer & Thorne Bilking EEG presentiment experime F. Echeverria, G. Klinkhammer, and K.S. Thorne). “Billiard balls in wormhole spacetimes with closed timelike curves: Classical theory”. Physical Review D, 44(4), 1077. (1991

Objections Braude: circularity (argument against OT’s) doesn’t take into account non linearity and differential equations where cause and effect do interact but produces a stable outcome) No quantum coherence in brain That is not assumed although it would be a candidate Covers only GESP not PK Not requirted but could it be obtained through time reversal in second law

Support + Time symmetric correlations between EEG pre & response are larger than not time-symmetric correlations (only one analysis and possibly analyzer effect?) + preliminary results of bilking were very odd – no brain ‘coherence’ correlations found (ye
