Agenda: Pre-Reading Quiz & Discussion Review Chapter 1 In class reading – Chapter 2 Homework

Pre – Reading Quiz Take 10 minutes and answer the questions on the handout in front of you. Answer these questions as thoughtfully as you can! Talk with a Partner Talk as a class

Discussion of Chapter 1 What happened in Chapter 1? What exposition did we learn? Setting? Protagonist? What questions did you have after reading? (Don’t be like Grumpy Cat!)

Reading Chapter 2 Student Choice – individual or group reading.

Homework! Finish reading Chapter 2! In your notebook, answer the following question: What do you think about Jonas, do you like him, dislike him, why? Find ONE example from the book that supports your idea, and include it in your paragraph. Be prepared to share your example with the class!
