Presentation transcript:

Igneous, Metamorphic & Sedimentary Monday October 15th 2018 Name the three (3) types of rocks. Which type of rock do we find fossils? Which type of rock is made through heat & pressure? Which of the three types of rocks can undergo “weathering & erosion”? Igneous, Metamorphic & Sedimentary Sedimentary Metamorphic All three

Tuesday October 16th 2018 Think back to the rock cycle you helped create yesterday…explain how a metamorphic rock can become a sedimentary rock. Metamorphic rock are uplifted which exposes them to weathering & erosion. The “W & E” breaks down the M-rocks into sediment. Sediments are covered up and “C & C” convert the sediments into Sedimentary Rocks.

Wednesday October 17th 2018 There are many “cycles” in nature. The Rock Cycle is just one of them. Think about another cycle in natural and explain how it’s similar to the Rock Cycle and how it’s different. Answer will vary! Frog life cycle Butterfly life cycle Water cycle Biogeochemical cycles
