Google Docs
There is more than one way to create a Doc In Drive Click on +New Click on the > by Docs Blank or Template Click on the “waffle” (Google Apps tool) Click on Docs Blank, Template, or previously created
Inserting images and other “media” Click on Insert Hover over Image to see options for image sources Can Insert Tables, Drawings, Charts, Equations, Special Characters Table of Contents & Page Numbers
Hyperlinks, Docs w/links, & hyperdocs To insert a hyperlink click on Insert then Link OR Use Ctrl K and Ctrl V keyboard shortcuts Docs with links & Hyperdocs This is a Doc with links This is a Hyperdoc Neither is inherently better, they’re just different Presentation on creating Hyperdocs
Version History Previously called Revision History Inside Docs, click on File Hover over Version history Name current version Create multiple versions of the same Doc Think “Save As” See version history Allows you to see what’s been done (or undone) to a Doc, by whom, and when it was done
Comments & Suggested Edits Highlight a section of text then click on the speech balloon with the + on the right side of the Doc Use the + inside the comment box to send a Gmail directly with the comment from Docs Can use ✓ or X to resolve comment Track comments through Comments thread at the top right hand side of Docs (next to Share)
Comments & Suggested Edits Click on Editing in the upper right hand corner (under Share) Click on Suggesting (it will turn green) Type in the Doc. Your suggested edits will be framed in green. A comment box will appear with your suggested edit. It can be accepted or rejected. You can track suggested edits in the Comment thread
The explore tool Find in Tools or lower right corner Use to search for related topics, images, and more information INSIDE THE DOC Cite sources Use the three dots to change from MLA to APA or Chicago
