A Local Real-time Mesoscale Prediction System for MODIS Direct Broadcast Sites Robert Aune NOAA/NESDIS/STAR/CoRP, Advanced Satellite Products Branch Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies (CIMSS) University of Wisconsin – Madison CIMSS has configured a version of CIMSS Regional Assimilation System (CRAS) that assimilates products from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS). This version can be installed at MODIS direct broadcast sites and assimilates locally generated MODIS products. Results were presented at the 1st U.S.-China Symposiumon Meteorology, National Weather Center, Norman, OK.
