So far we have been studying the germination of plants and how they grow. At this point, our plant has flowers. What happens after the flower blooms? How does the plant continue its growth in the germination process?

The answer….BEES! Bees are responsible for pollinating plants, or fertilizing them. Lets talk about what you might already know about bees. Record in your Plant Packets what you already know in your KWL chart. Be ready to share with the class.

Using crayons, colored pencils, you are to draw a picture of a bee. Keep in mind that even though you must do the best you can, I DO NOT expect you to be a bee expert! Try to label parts of the bee if you can.

What are your attitudes towards bees? Do you feel that bees are friends or foes?
