IBM Systems and Technology Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated Delivering deeper insight into customer demand four times faster The need: Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated (CCBCC) wanted to use deeper insights into customer demand to reduce the risk of over- or under-stock positions causing missed sales opportunities. To deliver these insights, the company updated its supply chain forecasting application—but with 20 times more data to crunch within the same nightly batch processing window, it needed a way to accelerate the process. The solution: CCBCC deployed the IBM® FlashSystem™ Enterprise Solution: IBM FlashSystem 820 behind IBM System Storage® SAN Volume Controller. Mirrored to the company’s existing IBM XIV® Storage System environment, the IBM FlashSystem Enterprise Solution enables CCBCC to process 20 times more forecasting data overnight and deliver deeper insights to business users two hours ahead of its service-level agreement. “Our mission statement is to make, sell and deliver Coca-Cola Company products better than anyone else. By using IBM FlashSystem to accelerate our insights into customer demand, we’re better placed than ever before to offer unbeatable levels of service to our customers across the United States.” —Tom DeJuneas, Infrastructure Manager, Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated The benefit: Delivers deeper insights into customer demand four times faster. Helps match manufacturing output with customer demand—reducing the risk of over- or under-stock positions. Enables CCBCC to arrange its daily logistics schedules earlier—cutting costs and increasing profitability. Solution components: IBM® FlashSystem™ 820 IBM XIV® Storage System TSP12729-USEN-00
