9.1 Intro. to STATISTICS Statistics – the science of organizing, analyzing, collecting, and interpreting data.

A Statistical Question is a question that anticipates MANY answers (NOT a question that gives a single answer i.e. yes/no, T/F)

INTERPRETING GRAPHS Weight of Mice in Grams (g) * Cluster – when several data points lie in a small interval * Peak – data value that occurs the most in an interval * Gap – an interval with no data

PEAK GAP GAP CLUSTER Cluster 10-15 Peak at 12 Gaps between 7 & 10 and 15 & 17 29 (count the # of dots)
