Objective SWBAT solve equations for the acceleration of objects.

Try It Jahina is moving at 5 m/s. She increases her speed to 15 m/s over a time of 5 seconds. If she keeps accelerating for another second, how fast will she be going?

Acceleration Acceleration is the change in speed divided by the time it takes for the change to happen. If your acceleration is 5 m/s2, your speed is going up by 5 m/s each second. Every second, your speed gets 5 m/s faster.

Example Jasmyne is running at 4 m/s. She accelerates to a speed of 10 m/s. This takes her 2 seconds. What is her rate of acceleration? sf = 10 m/s si = 4 m/s

Another Way to Think About Acceleration
