NC H.B. 389 – Overview NC H.B. 389 Allows public Univ. to sell beer & wine at Athletics facilities Requires Appalachian State University Board of Trustees approval Peers who currently sell at Football events Marshall University; Middle Tennessee State University; Troy University; University of Louisiana; Wake Forest University; West Virginia University More than 50 total NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision institutions allow SEC recently lifted a conference ban on stadium alcohol sales
App State Proposal Implementation of NC H.B. 389 Sell Alcohol (per NC H.B. 389) at App State Football and other sporting events Possible venues include the following (subject to change): Kidd Brewer Stadium (Football); Varsity Gym (Wrestling); Jim & Bettie Smith Stadium (Baseball); Sywassink/Lloyd Family Stadium (Softball); Holmes Convocation Center (Basketball, Volleyball); Appalachian 105 (Softball, Tennis, Track & Field); Brandon & Erica M. Adcock Field (Field Hockey); Ted Mackorell Soccer Complex – TBD (Soccer) NC ABC Commission meeting on 7/30 to discuss H.B. 389 best practices Will discuss permitting of events & best practices for implementation
