Audits There are two levels of audits 1. Audits performed by the EC at any time and up to 5 years after the closing of the project. 2. What are Certified Financial Statements (CFS)? It is an obligation under the financial regulation It is an external audit contracted by the Beneficiary. Can be done by a public body, as long as it is independent from the Beneficiary Each time the total expenditure of the Beneficiary reaches 650K€ total costs whether you have received co-funding or not . It is cumulative, so it is to total budget added over time: E.g. Australia Y1 = 280K€ total costs, Y2= 450K€, so Y1+Y2= 730K€. 730K€ > 650K€ so Australia must do a CFS at the closing of Y2, as the cumulative amount of costs will exceed the threshold. Beneficiaries can be asked to produce several CFS during the course of the project, as these are needed each time the threshold is reached. Detailed templates are provided by the EC. They are mandatory. Non compliance with the templates implies rejection of the CFS and therefore of the costs. It is not negotiable as it is an obligation under the financial regulation To be confirmed by the EC: Partners in national consortia can produce individual CFS Note: not providing a CFS blocks the closing of a year for the whole consortium. Option 1 produce CFS, option 2 costs of the beneficiary are rejected. e-CODEX GA project management

Next GA The next meeting is scheduled for the week of 12th May 2014 The main objective: to prepare the consortium for the review meeting taking place early June Additionally progress in the WP since Feb will be presented Decisions to be taken will be announced in advance 02/09/2019 e-SENS Project Management
