Wandsworth Education Remote Support Support borough schools, on trading account basis, since break-up of the ILEA in Service is fully funded from trading account income with no central funding.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Currently have a team of six support officers. Just launched a technician service, for minor problems and maintenance issues, which schools can sign up to by the hour per week.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Trading account provides support for: Admin. & Curriculum Network, SIMS, Broadband & Cabling Hardware Maintenance Admin. & Curriculum Training.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Currently Support. 4 Secondary Schools. 8 Special Schools. 47 Primary Schools {One in another Borough}. 3 Nursery Schools. 8 Other Units {Hospital Classrooms etc.}.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Full cradle to grave list of services including: Advice on what to buy from where, backed up by monthly quotes from suppliers. Installation, support, maintenance, upgrades & de-commissioning.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support London Grid for Learning provides high speed borough wide network. Single borough wide IP address range. Considered it technically possible to connect to school servers & PCs.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Ensure that all schools are using the favoured IP scheme. Network Address Translation {NAT} will restrict easy access. Resolve any Firewall issues at the Town Hall.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Curriculum and Administration servers are on a single physical network. All servers are Windows 2000 / 2003 with static IP addresses.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Support staff use RDP to access either server at the school. VNC, or NetOp, then used to move on to other machines on network.

Wandsworth Education Remote Support Benefits include: Improved response / service to schools. Savings in staff travelling times and costs.
