Alterative splicing and tissue distribution. Alterative splicing and tissue distribution. RT-PCR analyses of Kcnq4 expression were performed using total RNA preparations from a panel of tissues (A) and dissected fragments (B) of the inner ear representing the organ of Corti (OC), spiral ganglion (SG), and the cochlear lateral wall (LW). The generation of alternative splice variants was examined by three overlapping PCR products representing exons 1-7, 6-10, and 10-14.
