Synthesis of a fluorescent derivate of Argyrin A A project in collaboration with professor Markus Kalesse, Institut für Organische Chemie, Leibniz Universität Hannover Argyrin A is a cyclical peptide derivated from the myxobacterium Archangium gephyra. Recent studies have demonstrated that Argyrin A has antitumoral activities, in fact it has an important role in the inhibition of 20S proteasome in a new systemic treatment for PDAC (Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma). These studies in vitro and in vivo show that Argyrn A inhibits cell proliferation, migration, invasion and colony formation by partial induction of apoptosis. The aim of the project is to synthetize a fluorescent derivate of Argiryn A for studing its mechanism in the cell and allowing a better optimization in the future drug development and an improvement of his pharmacokinetic properties.
