The first impression you make on a potential employer is extremely important and could be the deciding factor on your getting your "dream" job. Regardless of what type of job you will be doing, it is always appropriate to dress professionally for the interview.

Just what is "Dressing for Success"...... Let us show you how!! "Dress for Success" should be your motto when you’re thinking about what you should wear to an interview. Although teachers tend to dress a bit more casually lately, it is essential that you showcase your best look for an interview.

Interview Attire How you dress for an interview is just as important as your credentials, and the answers you give to the questions they ask you. The first impression a potential employer gets of you is an extremely important one. According to the Transportation of Logistics Society, 55 % of another person's perception of you is based on how you look.

I Got the Job, Why Should Dress Matter? Sometimes teachers wear what they wear because it’s comfortable or what they already own. Studies show that the more professional an individual dresses for any occasion, the more likely they are to have higher cognitive and abstract thinking. Research suggest that formal attire: increases confidence promotes forward thinking promotes positive attitude http://www.teachhub.com/teacher-fashion-importance-dressing-professionally We’ve likely experienced this ourselves. We feel a bounce in our step when we wear those new shoes or walk with just a little more swagger with that new shirt or haircut. Appearance affects how we feel about ourselves. And if we feel good about ourselves, then that’s likely to trickle into how we think and act as a teacher throughout our day.

Our dress influences our students as well. Teachers are role models for their students, so when teachers dress professionally it sends important messages to students like how professionals looks and behave. By dressing professionally we are giving them an implicit message about how we see ourselves and our task. The more professionally we dress, the more we tell our students they are important.

Another reason why dressing in proper business attire is important in the education world is because you never know when you will be required to have a meeting with administration, parents, and co-workers. Always be PREPARED! ,

Be familiar with your SCHOOL/DISTRICT dress code. Things to consider when dressing for school: Atmosphere of the school Age and stage of your students Commute time Be familiar with your SCHOOL/DISTRICT dress code. http://www.wikihow.com/Dress-when-You%27re-a-Teacher Get a feel for the atmosphere at your school. Some schools are much more formal than others, so it helps to know how your fellow teachers, administrators, and even the students are going to dress before you pick your outfits. For example, teachers will likely dress more formally in a private school with a uniform and strict dress code than they will in a more loose public school setting where the kids dress very casually, too. A teacher has to dress far differently to teach preschool, compared to high school. Are you going to be doing art projects, changing diapers, and getting messy? If so, a more casual look is warranted. Are you going to be teaching CATE classes and meeting with parents to discuss student progress or local business to secure internships and future employment for students? Then a more formal look is a good idea.

Don’t go to work looking like you just rolled out of bed.

What Not Wear|Male Teacher athletic style clothing low rise pants hawaiian shirts shorts exposed undergarments hats or caps body piercing, facial pictures, exposed tattoos sandals athletic shoes work boots http://neatoday.org/2014/06/02/do-teachers-need-dress-codes-to-know-what-to-wear-at-school/
